Namibia has a unique educational system. Every child needs to go through primary school, but there are also two types of schools available: public and private. Public schools are provided with free education and food, while private schools charge tuition fees.
Why Schools in Namibia are expensive?
Namibia has one of the highest inflation rates in the world and school fees are one of the most expensive items people have to pay every month. The percentage of GDP spent on education ranges from 16% to 22%. This figure is higher than many other countries around the world, which spend between 4% and 9%.
In order to save money, many Namibians choose homeschooling over enrolling their children in an institution.
School fees differ in different structures of the Namibia school system.
Primary Education: Although fees may differ from school to school, especially with private and public schools.
