If you’re planning to drive in Namibia, you’ll need to make sure your car license renewal and car insurance are up to date. Fortunately, these procedures don’t cost as much as you might think – as long as you know where to go and what to do! Read on for more information about how much it costs to renew your license in Namibia.
The Fees
Renewing your car licence in Namibia will cost you at least 100 N$ for a one year renewal and 200 N$ for a two year renewal. You must renew your licence before it expires to avoid paying the late fee, which is 50% of the original price.
To renew your licence, you must show that you have completed an approved driver education course or are taking such a course. If not, you will be required to complete this course before your license can be renewed.
Exemptions
All drivers in Namibia must renew their licence every five years, but you can renew more often than that if you want to. For example, if you’re going on vacation for a month and then coming back to your home country, it might be useful to renew your licence while you’re gone. You’ll need to have your old licence with you so that the authorities will know when it expires.
