You can start a new business in Namibia by registering a company or representative office.

The process of registering a trademark, patent, and copyright is substantially the same as that for other countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

It is possible to register trademarks, patents, and copyrights from outside Namibia with assistance from our Joburg office if required, although local filings are preferable if due to cost savings on legal fees and any time lost during filing processes abroad.

Cost of company registration in Namibia

The cost of company registration in Namibia depends on the type of business you want to start. A sole proprietorship costs N$3000, while companies with up to five shareholders cost N$6000. Larger companies will be charged a rate of N$3000 for each additional shareholder and N$6000 for additional employees.

For example: If you have one shareholder who does not have any other employees, then your company will cost N$3000 for registration purposes. If the same person wants to employ three people in addition to himself/herself, then it would cost an extra N$1500 for each employee hired (N$4200 total).
