In Namibia, employers are legally obliged to allow their employees the time off they need to deal with illness in the family. This includes time off to care for sick family members and time off to care for family members with disabilities. If the employee has worked for the same employer for one year, they are entitled to 15 days of paid sick leave. If they have worked for the same employer for over one year, but less than two years, they are entitled to 20 days of paid sick leave.

Do I Get Paid When I’m On Sick Leave?

You are entitled to sick leave if you work for a company that has at least 10 employees or with the government. The time you can take is determined by your contract. If you don’t have a contract, then it’s usually up to one year. You are paid for this time off and you cannot be fired from your job while on sick leave, but you do need to let your employer know ahead of time so they can plan accordingly.
