In Namibia, employers are legally obliged to allow their employees the time off they need to deal with illness in the family. This includes time off to care for sick family members and time off to care for family members with disabilities. In terms of the Employment Act, every employee is entitled to one day of paid leave per month if they have been employed at the company for over three months; this amount increases to two days of paid leave after 12 months of employment at the company and an additional day each year until five years of employment, at which point it becomes capped at nine days’ annual leave per year.

What Is The Minimum Amount of Sick Leave Employers Must Provide?

In Namibia, employers must provide an employee with a minimum of 15 days of paid sick leave per year. If the employee has worked for the same employer for one year, they are entitled to 15 days of paid sick leave.
