It’s important to keep your car in good working order at all times, including having the right kind of brake fluid so that your brakes can work effectively and safely. If you’re driving around with low brake fluid, you could be putting yourself and others at risk, so make sure you check your brake fluid regularly and replace it as needed. Here are a few things you need to know about your brake fluid in Namibia!
How to know if your brake fluid is low
Brakes are a vital component of your vehicle, and without them you won’t be able to stop. That’s why it’s important to know how to check the brake fluid level in your car. Have someone step on the brakes while you take a look at the fluid reservoir. If there is less than 1/2 from the bottom of the reservoir, then it may be time for some brake fluid.
What causes low brake fluid
If you find your brake pedal is getting to the floor or if your car is pulling to one side, it’s possible that you’re low on brake fluid. It’s important to check this as soon as possible because if the brakes aren’t able to grab onto the discs, then you’ll have no way of stopping. The most common cause for running out of brake fluid is that someone has over-tightened the bleeder screw on top of the master cylinder.
How to fix low brake fluid
If your brake pedal is getting soft or there’s a spongy feel to the brakes, then it’s possible that your brake fluid is low and you need to fill up. There are two ways to do this: 1) remove the cap on the master cylinder reservoir and check if there’s enough fluid.
