Speed of Erection
If you’re planning a construction project, this is the speed of erection you want to know. It takes less than 10 minutes to erect a Lapa. If you need it taken down again, it can be done just as quickly. This makes it possible for workers to build temporary structures anywhere in Namibia without having them take up too much space or causing disruption.
Labour Costs
Labour costs for a Lapa can be high, but that’s not to say that you can’t reduce them. If you build a lapa from scratch and have the right carpenter, you can significantly reduce labour costs.
If you’re planning on building your own lapa, then get yourself a good carpenter who will be able to do great work for you.
Type of Roof and Diameter
- There are a variety of shapes and sizes available when choosing your lapa, but the most common shape is a half-circle. This shape has no vertical supports and allows for ease of access to windows and doors.
- The most common size for a Lapa is 6m. This size offers optimal protection against the elements while still being small enough to not take up too much space on your property.
- Corrugated iron is typically used as roofing material because it’s durable, affordable, easy to assemble, and looks great! It also helps to keep heat inside during the winter months by reflecting sunlight away from inside (which can then be re-radiated back into your home).
- Lapas come in many thicknesses ranging from 15mm (thin) all the way up to 40mm (thick). We recommend going with 20mm thickness if possible; it offers just enough insulation against heat loss/gain while still being lightweight enough that two people can easily lift one end off its hinges above their heads with no trouble whatsoever!
Materials used in the manufacturing process
Materials used in the manufacturing process
The materials used in a lapa are as follows:
- Roofing materials, such as corrugated iron sheeting and zinc sheets.
- Carpentry materials, such as wood for making frames, doors and windows.
- Electrical wiring, plumbing pipe systems and flooring material like concrete or wooden planks. Plastering is also needed to finish off the walls of your new building so that it looks aesthetically pleasing on both sides. Lastly comes paint which will give your home its final touches before it is ready to use!
A Lapa is a great addition to your backyard and can increase the value of your property by at least 10%.
It’s important that you get a good quality one, though—if you buy cheap, the roof will leak and the whole thing will fall apart in about five years. You can get a good lapa for as little as $600, but if you really want something top-of-the-line, that could cost up to $25,000 for materials alone!
