According to the Namibian Judicial Service Commission, the basic salary of a High Court Judge is N$160,000 per annum. In addition, High Court Judges are entitled to allowances for housing, transportation, medical insurance and other benefits.
How to become a high-court judge in Namibia?
To become a high court judge in Namibia, you must first obtain a law degree from a recognized university. After you have completed your law degree, you must then pass the state bar exam. Once you have passed the bar exam, you must then complete a two-year training program at the National Judicial Institute in Windhoek.
Once you have completed your training program, you must then pass a judicial assessment test. After you have passed the judicial assessment test, you must then be appointed to a lower court position. Once you have been appointed to a lower court position, you must then serve a minimum of three years in that position. Finally, you must then apply to the Namibian high court for the position of a high court judge.
