If you are considering getting braces, the first thing you’ll want to know is how much they will cost. You may also want to look at other options available in your area. The good news is that prices are fairly standard across Namibia and can be found on the website of each orthodontist in the country.
They are cheaper than ceramic braces and lingual braces.
Metal braces are the most affordable option and they cost between N$10,000 and N$15,000. They are cheaper than ceramic braces and lingual braces but they are more noticeable on the teeth.
Ceramic braces are more expensive than metal braces but they look much better in your mouth. Ceramic braces cost around N$15,000 – N$20,000 depending on how many units of teeth you want to straighten.
Lingual braces require a lot of special training for your dentist to learn how to fit them properly because they are hidden behind your teeth so that no one can see them unless you open your mouth wide enough for them to be visible (which is why I never had lingual). Linguals cost around N$20 000 – 25 000.
Ceramic braces cost between N$12,500 and N$21,000. They have tooth-coloured brackets that can make them less noticeable than metal braces.

Lingual braces are used for cosmetic reasons and are mostly used by teenagers as they are more expensive than ceramic braces.
