Generally, students who are looking to get their undergraduate degrees in Namibia will find that it’s relatively inexpensive compared to other parts of the world, particularly when they compare costs on an international scale. However, it’s important to note that the cost of education in Namibia varies based on the school you attend and whether you’re looking at pursuing your undergraduate or graduate degrees. In this article, we’ll look at what each degree program can cost and offer advice on how students can save money while still pursuing the education they want and need.
The University of Namibia
Namibian higher education is a state institution under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development. The University of Namibia, or UNAM as it is known locally, was founded in 1982 to address the need for higher education at an affordable cost. UNAM charges fees according to the country’s per capita income brackets. In 2009, fees ranged from US$110 per annum (for lower-income earners) up to US$600 per annum (for upper-income earners). These fees are set at about 50% of what private universities charge in neighbouring countries such as South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
International University of Management
IUM is an international university with campuses located in Russia, Ukraine, Zimbabwe and Namibia. IUM offers bachelor’s degree programs in business administration, IT management, international management and economics. The cost of tuition at IUM ranges from $6,000-$8,000 per year depending on the campus location. Tuition includes student services as well as round-trip airfare to one of the three global campuses for new students.
