An inverter is an essential component of your solar system. It transforms the direct current (DC) produced by your solar panels into alternating current (AC). When you need to use the electricity from your solar panels, it is transformed back into DC. An inverter is like a transformer that allows you to use electricity at home even when there is no sun or during cloudy days!
But how much does it cost? The good news is that you do not have to buy an expensive inverter if you are on a budget. There are plenty of affordable options available in Namibia; however, we will help you decide which one suits your needs best:
The cost of a solar inverter in Namibia is determined by the size measured in kilowatts (KW).
This means that if you want a 1kW solar system, then it would cost approximately N$5,000 to purchase an inverter for this size. If you wanted to have a 5kW solar system, then this would cost about N$25,000 as well.
Generally, the larger the size or capacity of the inverter, the higher its price tag.
The price is determined by the size measured in kilowatts (KW). For example, an inverter with a capacity of 3KW costs over one with a capacity of 2KW and so on.
The price also depends on whether you want an off-grid or on-grid inverter and whether it’s solar powered or diesel-powered. An off-grid solar power system will cost more than a diesel-powered one because it has to be more powerful and durable to supply enough electricity for your home despite cloudy weather or rainy seasons when there’s no sunlight available for charging batteries. A good quality 1kw inverter will cost you about N$5,000.
