If you’re planning on driving in Namibia and want to know how much it will cost, don’t worry! Driving lessons are relatively affordable here. In fact, most students find that the best way to save money is to buy a package of 6-15 lessons at once rather than by the hour.
How much do driver lessons cost in Namibia?
You can expect to pay anywhere from N$450 to N$750 for a driving lesson in Namibia. However, the actual price of each driving lesson will vary depending on where you live and how long your lessons are. The more lessons you take, the less you can expect to pay.
The average cost of a driving lesson is about N$500, but this can range from as little as N$100 per hour all the way up through several thousand dollars per session or even more depending on what type of vehicle they’re using and whether they have any special qualifications (like being able to speak multiple languages).
Most professional driving schools in Namibia offer packages that include 6 to 15 lessons and that cost less per hour than having lessons individually. Keep in mind that while you can take a variety of courses and lessons at different driving schools, you’ll need to pass the road test with a particular instructor and school in order to get a driver’s license.
Lessons are most affordable if you buy them by the package rather than by the hour
When purchasing lessons by the hour, you’ll pay about $50 per hour for a private driving lesson. When you buy them by the package, however, the cost averages out to $15 per hour and includes taxes. The lesson packages are also available in monthly, 3 months, 6-month and yearly options.
The prices listed below are based on an average of 5 hours per week over a one-year period:
- One year – $2 500 (5 hours per week)
- Three years – $4 500 (2.5 hours per week)
All prices are N$ only
